Our story
We've been doing this since radon was news.
Our roots go back to 1990, when Robert Ramsey — who helped develop the original E-Perm electret ion chamber radon testing device — founded RTS Environmental Services in Maryland. That device is still used by inspectors and researchers across the region today.
From radon, the business grew into a full suite of indoor environmental services as the industry evolved. Asbestos testing during the renovation boom, lead paint inspections as EPA requirements tightened, mold remediation as moisture problems became better understood. Through every decade, we've served the same goal: give homeowners and property managers honest assessments they can actually act on.

Founded in Maryland
Robert Ramsey starts RTS Environmental Services focused on radon testing for homeowners and real estate professionals.
1990s
E-Perm radon device
Contributed to development of the electret ion chamber (E-Perm) radon testing device — now an industry standard.
